MCNY – The Future City Lab

Future City Lab includes an animated demographic map table and a floor-to-ceiling digital display video installation. The large screen is part of an interactive urban planning simulation game that allows users to devise their own cityscapes at touchscreen consoles and see their utopias immediately projected on the big screen. 3D cameras scan visitors, projecting them into worlds of their own making.The Map Table is a large curved array of screens that bring the issues that face modern New Yorkers to life. Each issue is paired with data visualizations that span all five boroughs of the city.
